I used the vine brush with spacing on 1, my smudge settings were just changed to having the rate as 75. I also sharpened the smudge layer by 30 at the end.

Edit>Copy Visible
Edit>Paste
Type your text
Alpha to Selection on your text layer
Go to your Copy Visible layer, and push Ctrl and I at the same time
Hit the Delete key
Move your copy visible layer
Viola!

I have 2.4, it's the same in 2.2.

Do you use Filters>FreeType for your text? If not, make a new layer for your text.

i love the backround of it and the text blends in perfecto! but the render dosent blend in as much. But, always awesome! =] 9.9/10

Great tag. I think it look good without the render blended. Sometime the render shouldn't be blended. I think you should make a tut.
